The Best San Jose Costa Rica City Tours

We... read more started in the entrance of the Central Theatre to check out the statues, walked though the lovely church near by and proceeded to the market. The market is kind of like an enclosed flea market with everything from house hold supplies, meats, shoes to souvenir trinkets.

Ama made this tour absolutely delightful, sharing his passion and love for his hometown. We tried about 6 larger samples that were included in the tour price, ranging from chicharones con carne, coffee, fruits to the oldest ice cream in San Jose. If we weren’t so full, I would have loved a larger serving of the unique ice cream. So delicious! Also, I grew up eating tamales, but have never had a Costa Rican tomale which are creamy, rich and better than any I’ve ever had! Looking forward to getting more before our departure.

I highly recommend this tour to get a taste of Costa Rica from Ama, a proud and patient Tico. Thank you Carpe Chepe and Ama!

  Our small group joined the carpe chepe free waking tour of San Jose from outside the National Theatre. This was on the advice of our hosts from Casa Alma who... read more told us to look out for the yellow T-shirt. The young lady who was our guide was extremely knowledgeable and spoke several languages as many people of different nationalities joined our tour as we walked round. Great tour would really recommend
